Colorful Door is an independent music and multidisciplinary art project based in Vienna, Austria.
Created by musician, songwriter and poet Ramo Kurtovic, Colorful Door exists somewhere between a song, a poem, a memory and a soundscape.
It is not built around one genre.
It is built around an atmosphere.
The project moves between alternative songwriting, blues, jazz, trip hop, ambient, electronic music, spoken word and experimental sound, creating a space where organic songwriting meets contemporary production.

THE MUSIC
At the heart of Colorful Door is the song.
Lyrics, melody and voice remain the starting point, while electronic production, sound design and contemporary digital tools become part of the creative process.
Some songs are intimate and stripped back. Others are atmospheric, electronic or experimental.
The common element is the search for emotion rather than a fixed musical formula.
Colorful Door explores the space between silence and sound, memory and reality, the personal and the universal.

THE WORD
Poetry has always been part of the Colorful Door language.
The project brings together songs, poems and spoken word, often treating the voice as an instrument as much as a storyteller.
Recurring subjects include love and separation, memory, identity, loneliness, belonging, distance and the traces that people leave behind.
The poetry collection EXIT represents another part of this artistic world — a literary extension of themes that also appear throughout the music.

THE SOUND
Colorful Door is interested in the meeting point between human expression and technology.
Modern production tools, electronic textures, sound design and generative technologies may become part of the creative process, but they remain tools rather than the author.
The starting point remains human:
a thought, a voice, a melody, a feeling.
Technology is used to shape, expand and transform that idea into sound.

THE VISUAL WORLD
Music and image are inseparable parts of the Colorful Door identity.
The project's visual language often moves through minimalism, monochrome imagery, pencil textures, fog, fragmented forms, analogue imperfections, glitch elements and subtle colour accents.
The visual aesthetic reflects the music: imperfect, atmospheric, intimate and slightly dreamlike.
Each release is treated not simply as a song, but as part of a larger visual and emotional world.

DULDU
Alongside Colorful Door, Ramo Kurtovic is a member of the Vienna-based duo DULDU.
DULDU explores a darker electronic territory built around trip hop, electro rock, electro pop, ambient and experimental sound design.
Where Colorful Door often begins with the songwriter and the poem, DULDU begins with rhythm, texture and electronic atmosphere.
The two projects share the same creative DNA while exploring different sides of contemporary music.

THE IDEA
Colorful Door is an ongoing project.
There is no final genre, fixed formula or predefined destination.
New songs, collaborations, spoken-word pieces, electronic experiments and visual works become different doors into the same artistic world.
One project.
