 COLORFUL DOOR  is an independent music and multidisciplinary art project based in Vienna, Austria, created by musician, songwriter and poet Ramo Kurtović.
The project exists somewhere between a song, a word, a memory and a soundscape.
It is not built around one genre.
It is built around atmosphere.
Colorful Door moves between alternative songwriting, blues, jazz, trip hop, ambient and electronic music, spoken word and experimental sound, creating a space where organic songwriting meets contemporary production.

MUSIC
At the heart of Colorful Door is the song.
Lyrics, melody and voice remain the starting point, while electronic production, sound design and contemporary digital tools become part of the creative process.
Some songs are intimate and stripped back. Others are atmospheric, electronic or experimental.
The common element is not a fixed genre, but a search for emotion.
Colorful Door explores the space between silence and sound, memory and reality, the personal and the universal.

THE WORD
Poetry has always been part of the language of Colorful Door.
The project brings together poetry, prose and spoken word, often treating the voice as both an instrument and a narrator.
Recurring themes include love and separation, memory, identity, loneliness, belonging, distance and the traces people leave behind.
Ramo Kurtović's literary work naturally extends the world of Colorful Door, while also existing as an independent form of expression.

Published in 2025, EXIT represents a literary extension of the Colorful Door universe. The collection was released as a print edition, a Kindle edition and a digital Poetry Flipbook Edition.

FRAGMENTI  expands Ramo Kurtović's literary work into short prose and essays. The book was published on 10 September 2026 in print and is also available as a digital edition.

THE SOUND

Colorful Door explores the meeting point between human expression and technology.
Modern production tools, electronic textures, sound design and generative technologies may become part of the creative process, but they remain tools, not authors.
The starting point remains human:
thought, voice, melody, feeling.
Technology is used to shape, expand and transform an initial idea into sound.

THE VISUAL WORLD

Music and imagery are inseparable parts of the Colorful Door identity.
The project's visual language often moves through minimalism, monochrome imagery, pencil textures, fog, fragmented forms, analogue imperfections, glitch elements and subtle touches of color.
The visual aesthetic reflects the music: imperfect, atmospheric, intimate and slightly dreamlike.
Each release is treated not simply as a song or recording, but as part of a wider visual and emotional world.

DULDU

Alongside Colorful Door, Ramo Kurtović is a member of the Vienna-based duo DULDU.
DULDU explores a darker electronic territory built around trip hop, electro rock, electro pop, ambient and experimental sound design.
While Colorful Door often begins with the songwriter and the song, DULDU begins with rhythm, texture and electronic atmosphere.
The two projects share the same creative DNA while exploring different sides of contemporary music.

THE IDEA

Colorful Door is an evolving project.
There is no final genre, fixed formula or predetermined destination.
New songs, collaborations, spoken-word works, electronic experiments, poetry, short stories and visual pieces become different doors into the same artistic world.
One project.
Many sounds.
Many stories.
One door at a time.
