Vienna, March 24, 2026 — Colorful Door presents “FOLKLORE”, a new acoustic EP and the first chapter of the HOMELAND TONES project, exploring Bosnian and Herzegovinian musical heritage through a contemporary, minimalist and emotionally focused sound.The EP brings together six sevdalinka songs, reinterpreted through intimate acoustic arrangements that preserve the emotional essence of the original tradition while giving the music a contemporary sonic identity.At the centre of “FOLKLORE” is the voice of Huya, whose distinctive vocal interpretation gives the release its warmth, character and emotional depth. Her voice carries the stories of the songs while allowing the arrangements to remain spacious, restrained and intimate.The EP opens with “Nemoj dušu izdati”, establishing the emotional and acoustic language of the release. From there, the music moves into the meditative atmosphere of “Trag u vremenu”, followed by the spiritual character of “Ibrahimovu Nuru” and the expansive landscape suggested by “Rijeku Bosnu”.“Pismo Hamdiji” becomes the most intimate moment of the EP, before “Suada” closes the release with a more energetic acoustic pulse.

“FOLKLORE” marks the beginning of HOMELAND TONES, a broader artistic project dedicated to exploring and reinterpreting the musical heritage of Bosnia and Herzegovina.Rather than reproducing traditional arrangements exactly as they were performed in the past, HOMELAND TONES approaches the repertoire from a contemporary perspective. The aim is to preserve the emotional and cultural identity of the songs while presenting them in a language that can connect with today's listeners.The project places particular emphasis on atmosphere, voice and emotional honesty. Minimalist acoustic arrangements create space for the melodies and stories to breathe, allowing the traditional character of sevdalinka to remain at the heart of the music.With Huya at the centre of the vocal interpretation, “FOLKLORE” becomes both a tribute to tradition and a contemporary musical statement.It is music connected to a homeland, but created for a present-day audience.
